Day 1: Arrival at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station or Bagdogra (IXB) Airport – Transfer to Gangtok
Begin your Himalayan adventure with a warm welcome from our experienced tour representative at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. Enjoy a scenic drive to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. Evening free for local market exploration and acclimatization. Overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in Gangtok with mountain views.
Day 2: Gangtok – Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir Excursion (Optional Nathula Pass Available)
Embark on a breathtaking journey to the sacred Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft), a pristine high-altitude glacier lake located 32 kilometers from Gangtok. Marvel at this 1-kilometer-long and 15-meter-deep crystal-clear lake. Continue 12 kilometers further to visit the revered Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple. Return to Gangtok for overnight stay. (Additional option: Visit the historic Indo-China border at Nathula Pass – permits required)
Day 3: Gangtok to Darjeeling Hill Station Journey
After a hearty breakfast, embark on a picturesque drive from Gangtok to Darjeeling, the Queen of Hill Stations. Wind through mountain roads offering spectacular views of tea gardens and valleys. Evening free to explore Darjeeling’s charming Mall Road and local cafes. Overnight stay in Darjeeling at a heritage hotel.
Day 4: Darjeeling Sightseeing and Sunrise Tour
Start early at 4:00 AM for the famous Tiger Hill sunrise experience, witnessing the golden rays illuminating Mount Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest peak. En route, visit the historic Ghoom Monastery and the engineering marvel of Batasia Loop. Post breakfast, enjoy a comprehensive city tour including:
• Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays)
• Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, home to Red Pandas
• Tenzing Rock, named after the legendary mountaineer
• Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre (closed on Sundays)
• Premium Darjeeling Tea Gardens (external view)
• Peaceful Japanese Temple Overnight stay in Darjeeling amidst the misty mountains.
Day 5: Departure – Darjeeling to NJP/Bagdogra Airport
Conclude your Himalayan journey with a leisurely breakfast. Check-out from the hotel and transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. Carry back memories of misty mountains, aromatic tea gardens, and cultural experiences.
